Mountain House Rice & Chicken, My Personal Favourite

After a long day of Hiking in BC or Washington State, my absolute favourite meal is simple: 3 servings of Mountain House Rice & Chicken along with 350g of pre-cooked, pre-sliced chicken breast that's been warmed up. Tips: - Buy a few Wise pouches, then *clean them and keep them*. They're physically bigger and shallower, making it easy to use with a fork and great for warming up portions of your Mountain House #10 cans - Start the water on a boil right away. While it's boiling, roll the can upside down and jiggle it some so that the flavouring/sauce is uniformly mixed, then open it and use your measuring cups to measure the servings. Make sure to put the oxygen remover back in and seal ASAP, and take care not to get water in the can if it's raining. - Once it's boiled, take the water off and put it in the pouch. The water portioning will be to preference, to some extent. I tend to put in 10% *less* water than they recommend off the top, stir, and place the pouch in an insulated dollar-store lunchbag to keep the heat in (important in the winter, but nice year-round). - I then use my fry pan and a bit of oil to heat up my pre-cooked pre-cut chicken slices. - At around the 4 minute mark after the water was added, it's time to stir. Evaluate the water content. If moving the bag has the rice and chicken keeping the form of the bag before it was moved, you need more water (50-100ml). If you're adding chicken, add more water still (100ml). Add the heated chicken and mix it in thoroughly. - If you're making it for two, stir the other bag too, add water if necessary and put them back in the lunchbags. - Heat up the second portion of chicken on the frypan for the second person. - At 10 minutes after the water was first put in, add heated chicken and water to the second person's meal, stir. Turn off your oven and eat. Total time from stove setup to eating: 20 minutes, which includes time to boil water. Nutritional breakdown (3 servings Rice & Chicken, 350g pre-cooked (not freeze-dried) chicken): 1260 calories 126.5 g Carbs 38.8 g Fat 101.5g Protein 3000mg Sodium (you can cut this in half by pre-cooking your own chicken instead of buying pre-cooked from the store) 100% yum

Taste great and great value

Tried pretty much all meals. This is a great one for value and taste. Gives you the calories, you feel full. The equivalent would be the Pasta Primevera (rank 5) and Turkey Tettrazine (rank 4)
