How many days of supplies does the kit provide?
The kit is designed to provide supplies for a range of 3 to 5 days. This duration is based on the general guideline for emergency preparedness, considering the average time it might take for help or resources to arrive during common disaster scenarios. While individual needs may vary, the kit is carefully curated to include essentials like food, water, shelter, first aid, and tools to sustain you and your family during this critical window. Keep in mind that it's essential to periodically check and replenish items to ensure you're adequately prepared for unexpected situations.
What are the major differences between the essential and deluxe kit?
The biggest difference between the two kits is that the Deluxe Kit has more shelter items included like the "Emergency Tube Tent" and "Sleeping Bag" while the Essential only has an "Extra Large Thermal Blanket" & the “Hooded Poncho”. There are of course additional items that are also added to the Deluxe Kits which Essential Kits does not have.
Please see below for the additional items included in the Deluxe Kit:
Crusader One Radio (upgraded from the Crusader Mini), Sleeping Bag, Waterproof Matches, Multi-Function Army Knife, 50ft Nylon Utility Cord, Leather Palm Working Gloves, Water Purification Tablets, & Three Wick Emergency Candles
How can we store the kit properly to maintain its integrity over time?
In short, somewhere quickly accessible, centrally located, and close to the door. Emergency agencies generally recommend under the bed (where you spend a third of each day), by the door, or in your garage. Experts also recommend having one in the trunk of your car, as well as one at work.
Are the food rations gluten-free?
The standard food ration bars in our Emergency Kits are all nut-free and vegetarian friendly but are not gluten free. If you have a gluten allergy, please reach out to us and we'll happily work with you to make sure you've got a solution.
Is there room to add other items to the bag?
Our bags have room to add personal items as well. Many people add clothes, a pair of shoes, copies of documents, cash, an extra blanket, meaningful items, or anything they want to have ready-to-go. It also means there is room for other important supplies you might want to add.
