British Columbia WorkSafe BC Regulation First Aid Kits
WorkSafeBC & CSA-Compliant First Aid Kits – Available at 72hours.ca
Effective November 1, 2024, WorkSafeBC implemented significant amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation concerning occupational first aid. These changes align British Columbia's standards with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) guidelines, ensuring a consistent and high level of workplace safety across the province.
Key Updates Include:
-
Mandatory First Aid Assessments: Employers are now required to conduct and document comprehensive First Aid Risk Assessment for each workplace. This process evaluates factors such as the number of workers, hazard levels, and workplace accessibility to determine the appropriate first aid services needed.
-
Revised First Aid Kit Classifications: The traditional Level 1, 2, and 3 first aid kits have been reclassified to Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced kits, respectively. Each kit's contents have been updated to meet the latest CSA standards, ensuring they are equipped to handle the specific needs of different workplace environments.
To support employers in meeting these legal obligations, 72hours.ca offers fully compliant first aid kits that align with the CSA Z1220-17 Standard (First Aid Kits for the Workplace), recognized by WorkSafeBC. We provide tailored kits for every type of workplace—from low-risk offices to high-risk construction sites.
